Born in Paonia Colorado in 1939 to Earl and Julia (Armstrong) Ledbetter, the eighth of ten children. They moved to Riverside California in the 1940s where David attended school graduating from Riverside Polytechnic High School in 1957. He met Irene Harris soon after and they married in January of 1958. They started a family and before long they moved to Hemet CA to be closer to Irene’s family in French Valley. David worked at Rohr Aircraft where he helped fabricate aircraft parts including engine nacelles for B-52s (which he often pointed out whenever we saw one) and sold Fuller Brush door to Door. He left Rohr to work for California Water and Telephone in Hemet, first as a Lineman then on to a proud 28yr career as a Cable Splicer where he retired from GTE. He was very involved in his children’s lives and enjoyed hunting as his major hobby. He volunteered as a scoutmaster and was a steward in the Communication Workers of America. After retirement he was involved in the Winchester Homeowners Association until he and Irene moved to Idyllwild where they resided until his passing on February 7th 2025. David was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Irene, children Michael (Carol), Tammy(John), Julia, and David(Michelle). 9 grandchildren 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
