Ethelyn Louise Gray

Ethelyn Louise Gray was born on August 8, 1925 in Hastings, Nebraska. She moved to San Jacinto as a child with her parents, Lloyd and Lettie Cardiff along with her sister Lenora and brother Marshall and graduated from Hemet High School. She attended LaVerne College and became an elementary school teacher. She met Fletcher Gray at a church youth gathering in Hemet and the two were married in August, 1949. Ethelyn taught 1st grade at Baptist Christian School from 1966-1995 while raising her family of 3 children. Teaching children to read and memorize Scripture was her life-time passion. Ethelyn and Fletcher enjoyed boating and camping and were members of the Christian Campers Club. She water skied until the age of 70. Ethelyn is survived by her sister Lenora Billings of Las Vegas, Nevada and 3 children, Cheryl Baerg of El Cajon, CA, Mark Gray of San Diego, CA, and Timothy Gray of Costa Mesa, CA. She had 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at McWane Family Funeral Home 350 N. San Jacinto St., Hemet, CA 92543. Graveside service will be on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 10:30 AM at San Jacinto Valley Cemetery, 2555 S. Santa Fe St., San Jacinto, CA 92583.
