

Eva T. Martinez passed away on February 12, 2015 in Murrieta, CA at the age of 84. Eva was born July 21, 1930 to Lorenzo Tapia and Mercedes Garcia in Holtville, CA. She was raised by Josephina and Ignacio Navarro, her aunt and uncle, and her cousin Marie. Eva grew up in Calexico, CA and graduated Calexico Union HS in 1950. She married Raul Tony Martinez on May 4, 1957, moved to Torrance, CA, and lived there from 1957-2010. She is survived by Raul Martinez (Husband), and their three children, Anthony (Bobbi) Martinez, Randolf Martinez and Maritza (Todd) Malecki, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She first and foremost was a homemaker, but did work at Sam Levy Department Store in Torrance, CA for many years as a book keeper. Her hobbies included gardening, reading, praying the Rosary, walking the mall, talking to great friends and spending time with her family. A lifelong Catholic, Eva was a parishioner of Nativity Catholic Church in Torrance, CA and Blessed Teresa of Calcutta in Winchester, CA. She was a VFW member in Gardena, CA and attended activities with The Legion of Mary. Eva loved visits from her grandchildren and it brought her immense joy and happiness to watch them grow into who they are today. Eva was a loving, caring, woman with a heart of gold who never forgot a birthday. There will be a Rosary and Viewing at Miller-Jones, Murrieta, CA from 10am-2pm on March 1st. She will be buried at Riverside National Cemetery at 12:45pm after a Mass at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta in Winchester, CA at 10:30am on March 2nd.
