Frances Mozell Lord, "Lived Life Outloud." Born, in Texas she personified the Big State. She was born on Saturday, July 23, 1921 to Jesse and Lillie Russell. She attended a one room school house and was fond of chickens and roosters, probably stemming from growing up on a ranch. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in Victorville, California.
Frances was an excellent seamstress. Loving to sew, she would make all her children's clothing. That in itself was unique, because Frances and her husband, Isaac, had two sets of twins, for which she would make matching outfits. Her daughter Gwen, still has childhood costumes that her Mother made for her. Frances loved dressing up. She was a fancy dresser and loved jewelry; some might have thought even the word "flamboyant" might describe her. She loved it! She wanted to be known for her outfits and her outgoing personality. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society.
Well known in the community of Hemet and San Jacinto, Frances was a member of the local Realtors Association. She worked for Aloha Realty for 10 years and was known to all for her pleasant attitude. She exuded happiness and would draw you in with her outgoing personality. During the last three years she has been a resident at the Sterling Inn located in Victorville, California where she was known as a social butterfly, and she was crowned the Valentine's Day Queen. One day Frances' son walked into a classroom at San Joaquin college and the students were viewing a slide presentation, his Mother was in one of the slides!
Isaac, Frances' beloved husband passed away in June 2002. Isaac lived a very full and colorful life as well. They were the perfect match. Isaac spent four years in the United States Marine Corp and twenty-two years in the United States Navy. In 1960 Isaac accepted a position with the United States Weather Bureau in Fairbanks Alaska as a Forecaster and remained there until his retirement in 1971.
Isaac and Frances chose to live out their life of retirement in the little community of Hemet. They enjoyed the next twenty-seven years in Country Club style living. They loved to travel and they put many miles on their motorhome. During his retirement Isaac visited local Art Museums; he sculpted, and painted in oil, acrylic and watercolor. He found Hemet and San Jacinto to be a mecca for golf and he loved to do so. Married for 62 wonderful years, Isaac and Frances' marker will read, "Together Forever."
Frances will be dearly missed by her daughter, Gwen, and Sons Ronald, Russell and Gary. She will also be deeply missed by her brother, Kenneth. Also feeling this loss will be her 23 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 6 great, great grandchildren and many other in her extended family.
Frances Lord, touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know her and who loved her. She has left a legacy of love for life. She would always say, "Love and live life to the fullest." She did just that.
