

George Nevius McDonald entered into eternal life on January 13, 2016 in Riverside California with his wife Deborah, of 32 years, by his side. George was born on February 8, 1931 in Lead, South Dakota to Foster and Ann McDonald. He unconditionally loved his surviving children and grandchildren: Tara LeQuire (Jason), Hayley McDonald, Kyle McDonald (Tomasa), Kimberly Karsten (Jesse), Brian McDonald, Bonnie LeQuire, Abby McDonald, Scott McDonald, Brittany Brewer, Konrad Karsten, Jonathan Hernandez, Blakely Brewer, and Wyatt Brewer. He is also survived by two loving siblings: Mary Jean Hernandez (Michael) and Larry McDonald.
George graduated from Lead High School in 1949 as a three year captain of the track team. He served four years in the Navy during the Korean War. George worked in the Homestake Mines in Lead South Dakota while attending the University of Montana. After receiving his business degree he moved to California in 1959. George became a Tax Compliance Supervisor for Franchise Tax Board and Employment Development Department. He retired after 28 years in 1993. He was influential in shaping many children's lives as co-owner of McDonald Family Daycare for 18 years. George was an active member of First Baptist Church of Riverside.
George's love of travel allowed him to accomplish several travel goals, including visiting all 50 states, most of the provinces of Canada and countries of Central America.
The gentle spirit of George will always be remembered and missed by family and friends.
