

George served his country proudly, in the United States Navy for 20 years. He worked as a chief engineer in the healthcare profession for 25 years. He was a member of The Elks, and The American Legion. George enjoyed traveling cross country along with his beloved wife, Bernie. He also enjoyed fishing, gardening, and going to the casino.
George was a person who loved his family dearly; he was a person that others followed with reverence. He will be greatly missed and remembered for his devotion to family, and his country.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Bernadette, his children, Marty Ferguson of Riverside, CA, Debbie Kaufman of New Port Beach, CA, Maria High of Las Vegas, NV, Jim Townsend his sisters, Lauretta Graf of New Hampshire, Ella Ballou of Vermont, and Donna Howe of Vermont. His 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be on Sunday, February 17, 2013 from 4-8 PM at McWane Family Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:30 at McWane Family Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Riverside National Cemetery at 1:45 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in George’s honor to The Disabled Veterans of America.
