Harold Dixon

Harold was born in New Westminster B.C. Canada on July 11, 1930 and joined the U.S. Navy in 1948 serving as a Gunner’s Mate 2nd Class on the SS Herbert J. Thomas (DDR833). While serving he met and married his first wife, Josephine, and they lived happily in their home in La Puente, Ca. where Harold dedicated 21 years to the local school district before moving to their home in Hemet, Ca. until Josephine’s passing on September 24, 2004.

As a loyal member of Hemet’s American Legion, Harold would regularly volunteer at bingo night. It was there that he met Carmen. They fell in love and were married in 2008.

Harold was a handsome, tall, blue-eyed man who loved to sit and talk to his family and friends. He loved to make conversation with everyone and made new friends everywhere he went with his charm and wit. He will be missed by his wife, family and friends alike. May he rest peacefully in God’s arms.

A Rosary and vigil will be held at 7pm on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at Miller-Jones Mortuary located at 1501 W. Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA 92543.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Our Lady of the Valley located at 790 S State St, Hemet, CA 92543.

Internment will immediately follow at Riverside National Cemetery located at 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, CA 92518
