Irene Martin

Irene was born on Sunday, October 21, 1923 in Wigan, England. Her family relocated to Canada when she was a young girl and she moved to California when she was in her 30s. She was the daughter of the late William Collins and the late Mary Collins. She was the wife of the late Frank Martin who passed away in 2003.

Irene was a people person and always had a beautiful smile on her face. She was family oriented and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed dancing, you could often find her on the dance floor at the Elks Club or square dancing.

She enjoyed going to all the casinos in the area and playing the slots with her friends and family. She appreciated the wonders of wool and yarn and was an avid knitter and crocheter, and as a young girl she liked to go ice skating.

Surviving are daughters, Jan (Dan) Ferguson, Beverly Wheller and Judy Tobey, sister, Joan Martinello, grandchildren Chris, Stefanie and Ron, and great grandchildren, Gavyn, Tristan, Trinity, Cali and Damien.
