It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jack Marvin Turek. He passed away peacefully on June 27, 2016. Jack was born on April 4, 1925 in Pierce, Nebraska. Born the oldest of four children to Joe and Marjorie (Matteson) Turek. He graduated from Pierce High School, joined the Navy and served both in World War II and the Korean War. Jack went on to earn his bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska. He was a member of the Elks and the American Legion. His hobbies included bingo, traveling in his RV and vacationing in Hawaii. He also loved to go fishing, camping and dancing. Jack is survived by his wife Mardi Turek, three sisters, two children, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Interment will be at the Riverside National Cemetery with military honors.
