Died in his home in Hemet, CA on August 12, 2020 at 3:36 pm at the age of 89. James is survived by 2 daughters Leslie Wacht (50) and Sandra Janelle Lefler (50) as well as 4 grandchildren: Justin James Lefler, 22 Jason Edward Lefler, 19, Jamie Janelle Lefler, 17 and Jessie Nicole Lefler, 15.
James was retired Coast Guard 5 year veteran and retired Inglewood Detective 28 years (he never called sick). He also served in the private sector doing private investigative work and on site security.
Originally from a farm in Wagner, South Dakota. His Aunts Sadie and Edie were teachers that lived off Sunset in Santa Monica and they were the ones that afforded my dad and his Brother Tom the opportunities that California has to offer.
My dad loved fishing, baseball (Jonny Bench) pens, tractor toy collecting, steins, books, farm scenes, guns, woodworking, hunting dancing and his grandchildren.
He often said he had a great life and wonderful family. Rest In Peace Dad
