James was a plumber for 35 years. He was an avid fisherman, loved to BBQ and was a sports fan of all sports, his favorite football team was the Chargers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Josephine; his children and their families, Stephanie Shipley, Heather Poe-Shipley, and Timothy Tomes; his siblings and their families, Ed Shipley, Jean Anderson, Kay Miller and Elizabeth Shipley; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Grace Shipley and daughter Jennifer Tomes.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 4-8pm at Miller-Jones Mortuary 26770 Murrieta Rd., Sun City, California. A funeral service will be on Sunday, December 16, 2018 at 12:30pm at Miller-Jones Mortuary Sun City with internment to follow at Menifee Valley Cemetery. A reception to follow graveside services at Miller-Jones Reception House.
