John Elwain Hammond, age 86 of Murrieta, California entered eternal life on Thursday, January 30, 2014. He entered life on Sunday, February 6, 1927 in Los Angeles, California. John was the son of the late William Hammond and the late Ivy Tibbitts Hammond.
John served in the United States Navy during World War II and worked 37 years for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of St. Martha Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
In 2013, John was preceded in death by his loving wife of 67 years, Sally Micaela Hammond.
Surviving are sons, Daniel Hammond, John Hammond and Paul Hammond, daughters, Kathleen Havins, Sandra Canzone, Cynthia Maddox; 16 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, February 12th at St. Martha Catholic Church located at 37200 Whitewood Rd, Murrieta.. Interment will be held privately in the Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, California.
