

Born October 2, 1925 in Frackville, Pa, he joined the Navy in 1942 then served in the Army beginning in 1950. After retirement, he began a second career with Trans World Airlines as an aircraft mechanic until a second retirement in 1986. He then moved to Sun City where he resided for over 30 years. He was a member of the Sun City Lawn Bowls Club and the Sun City Pinochle Club for many years. He was a member of the BPO Elks #1533 since 1947 and the VFW. He loved traveling, especially cruises, and visiting casinos. In his later years, his days were spent playing bingo, solving word search puzzles, dancing at the Sock Hop and being named Prom King at the Sun City Gardens ending each day with some chewing tobacco and a shot of bourbon.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Morgan and his parents, William and Harriet Morgan and his siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Karen Morgan of Menifee: numerous nieces and nephews, and the five he considered his grandchildren: Lexie, Danielle, Christina, Jaclyn. and Manuel Cervantes.
A memorial service is being planned at Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory in Sun City. Private inurnment at Riverside National Cemetery is planned.
