John will be dearly missed but forever loved by his wife of 69 years, Jean. He leaves loving memories to his daughter, Gail Whetstone and his two grandchildren Sean Sullivan and Bren Watts and his six great-grandchildren: Christopher, Jason, Danya, Chloe, Auggie and Abigael. He is survived by his sister Mary Stembridge, sister in law Lynne Frappier, her husband Frank and many loving nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his dear son, John Wesley Whetstone Jr.
John served his country honorably in WWII and the Korean War reaching the rank of Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy. John's remains will be placed in the columbarium at Riverside National Cemetery with full military honors.
John touched many lives and will be truly missed by all those who were honored to know him and love him. The family wishes to thank everyone who cared for him during his illness, especially Michelle.
