Kevin James McGuire, 60, passed away on December 8, 2017 in the arms of his loving wife of 26 years, Olga (Neff) McGuire. He had fought a fierce battle with cancer.
Kevin was one of eight children born and raised in Buffalo, New York. At 17 years old, soon after graduating high school, he left home to join and serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. After 22 years of worldwide service, to include Iraq and Saudi Arabia, he retired a decorated Marine Gunnery Sergeant. After military retirement, he and his wife settled in Southern California where he worked the next 19 years as a lab technician for the company, Air Products. Kevin was a collector of fine items and antiquities, many different items from books, coins to clocks. He loved his Buffalo Bills, traveling and outdoor activities.
In the middle of his military career, Kevin served a temporary assignment at the Pentagon where he fell in love with the "girl in the red dress" who also worked at a travel agency in the Pentagon and the last 26 years have gone by too fast. His wife, Olga, tells us that Kevin had a fun and humorous personality who enjoyed life. Just the day before he passed, he was joking and making her laugh. He was so happy with her laugh and love. He told her, he was so glad he could still make her laugh after all these years and made her promise to continue her laugh after he's gone.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Shirley (Bonnie) McGuire; 3 brothers, Michael, Timothy and John McGuire; 2 sisters, Missy and Judy McGuire. He is survived by his loving wife, Olga (Neff) McGuire; a brother, Terry; a sister, Kerry (McGuire) Fischer; 4 nieces, 5 nephews; and 3 furry babies, Kelly, Charlie and Chica.
It is requested in lieu of flowers to please donate to the American Cancer Association in his name.
