It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Manuel Contreras Corrales, who departed this life on July 11, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on August 15, 1958, Manuel was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and mentor whose warmth, wisdom, and strength left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Manuel dedicated 27 years of his life working as an automotive mechanic for Pep Boys, where he was admired for his craftsmanship, dedication, and helping nature. But beyond his work, Manuel had another great passion—martial arts. As a respected karate sensei, he shared his discipline, patience, and teachings with generations of students, inspiring many with his quiet strength and unwavering focus.
He is survived by his loving mother, Maria Corrales; his siblings, Ramon Corrales (sister in law Josie Corrales) and Margarita Gonzalez (brother in law Mario Gonzalez); and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom he deeply loved. “Tio Meño” held a special place in their hearts, always offering guidance, encouragement, and joy.
Manuel’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched—as a teacher, a mechanic, a family man, and a friend. He will be remembered not only for the skills he shared but for the humility, strength, and kindness he carried in every part of his life.
