Our dear Mother Marie Elena Butler sadly passed away at the age of 65. She was a wonderful mother always there when we needed her. Mom was born in Hemet and lived there her whole life. She worked at the Hemet Hospital as a dietitian and then became a CNA which she loved. At work she was known as Marie but at home she was known as Lena. Mom loved her family and her family loved her. Mom enjoyed reading, watching old tv shows, cooking shows and Catholic Mass. Mom loved having a little dog on her lap first it was Molly then it was Max. Lena loved attending family gatherings; she made a raw apple cake that was popular at parties and family gatherings.
Mom and Dad have a little piece of property; she loved sitting on a rock overlooking the Valley; she called it Lena’s Land.
Lena was survived by her husband of 45 years Benny Butter, her daughter Angela both of Hemet, her son Stephen, daughter in law Elenour and granddaughter Sabrina of Oklahoma. Lena was also survived by 2 brothers and 3 sisters; Jaime Rodriguez of Homeland, Santiago Rodriguez Jr of Riverside, Erlinda Towler of Corona, Rosa Doig of Oregon and Virginia Lopez of Hemet. Lena has many nieces and nephews. Mom is preceded in death by her parents Erlinda, Santiago Rodriguez SR. and her sister Norma.
Mom’s death was a sad day for everyone who loved her; her family, friends and neighbors.
