Marie Lillian Prater, 72 of Winchester, CA passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017, in Hemet, CA. She was born on Monday, September 26, 1944 in Hickory, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Brinkley and the late Evelyn (Sims) Brinkley. She was married to Jesse Carl Prater for 44 wonderful years. Marie was an office manager in the mobile homes profession for 40 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the VFW Post No. 4379 in Winchester, where she served as Chaplin for fifteen years. She was also very involved with Valley Wide in the past. Marie was an excellent competitive pool player in the area.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jesse Carl Prater, daughter, Kelly White, step- children Jason Prater, Lori Hanes, siblings, Dave Brinkley, Dennis Brinkley, Douglas Brinkley, Tom Brinkley, Alex Brinkley, Janet Starns, Mary Lynn Costner, Beth Miller, seven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Celebration of her life will be on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10 AM. at Miller-Jones Mortuary, located at 1501 West Florida Ave. Hemet, CA 92543.
