Mayvis Florence Thompson, age 89, of Menifee went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2011. She was born March 3, 1921 in Cooperstown, North Dakota. She received her formal education through the North Dakota Public School System. Mayvis worked for Varsity Deli in Redondo Beach for 20 years.
She is one of six children born to the late Rudolph and Louise Lockner. She is survived by her loving sisters, Myrtle Carter and Delores Hoyt; beloved children Linda Hipp, Lisa Savre, and Jill Savre-Ragan; treasured grandchildren Sean Savre, Jhann Baker, and Cole Schmidt; treasured great grandchildren Sean Savre, Zack Savre, Alyssa Savre, Jesse Savre, and Justin Savre and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom were blessed to know her.
Mayvis enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, music, shopping, spending time with family and friends, and meeting new people. She had a personality that drew others towards her and she touched the lives of so many with her playful and giving spirit.
Funeral service will be at Miller-Jones Sun City Mortuary at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 15, 2011
