

A retired travel agent, June loved exploring new destinations and frequently visited her homeland, Canada. She was an avid shopper who enjoyed sewing baby blankets and burp cloths, reading Danielle Steel novels and hosting holiday meals for family and friends. She was a constant presence in her grandchildren’s lives—attending school performances, sporting events, graduations and always remembering birthdays with a heartfelt card.
Born in Canada, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Benjamin) Liberty. June was a loving wife, an incredible mom, and an amazing grandmother. She was married to the love of her life, Philip D. Burton, for 68 wonderful years.
She was the matriarch of the family, and her love for them was immeasurable. June was preceded in death by her husband, Philip D. Burton (2025), and her daughter, Liberty Ann Burton (2022). She is survived by her son, Anthony (Alicia) Burton; her daughter, Francine (Chip) Bangert; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be on November 7, 2025 at 10:15 am at Riverside National Cemetery: 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, Ca. 92518 (line up at 9:45 am)
A reception will be held from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at: 43921 Mandarin Dr. Hemet
