Ona Ellington

Ona Bridgett Ellington of Kernersville, North Carolina was born on December 30, 1966 in Los Angeles, California to Joseph and Arthurine Broussard. She received her education from Normandie Avenue Elementary School, Curtiss Middle School, and Carson High School (Graduated in the class of 1984). She continued her education after high school at Cerritos Community College in Norwalk, California where she studied General Education.

In 2007 she married her loving husband Greg Ellington and later gave birth to their son Galen. She was a devoted wife and mother that enjoyed spending her days with her family at sporting events, vacations, outings and she loved to shop.

Ona found her career calling as a Civil Servant. In Los Angeles County at the Superior Courts she was a Courtroom Assistant and later a Courtroom Liaison in California. When she moved to North Carolina she became a Deputy Clerk at the Forsyth County Superior Court. She enjoyed her work as a Civil Servant.

In California Ona was a devoted member, served on the Elder Board, Alter Guild and the Agape Ministries at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gardena. When she moved to North Carolina she and her family attended Guilford County United Methodist Church.

Ona’s precious memories will forever be in the hearts of many including her husband, Greg; her son, Galen; step-son, Shaquel (grandchild-Aubriella); nephew (like a son), Sudan (Jaya); her parents, Joseph & Arthurine Broussard of Perris, California; two sisters; Amy Broussard-Dawson (Robert) of Perris, California; Jorine Campbell (Daniel) of Perris, California; two brothers ; Gregory Broussard (Twanette) of Moreno Valley, California; Craig May (Sonya) of Mesa, AZ; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
