

Orville Marvick, 92 of Corona, California passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at Decendent's Residence in Corona, California .Orville was born Tuesday, April 1, 1919 in Tacoma, Washington.He was the son of Ole & Fina Marvick both from Norway. Graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma and joined the Navy in June 1938. He was sent to the Asiatic Fleet in 1939, did duty on the U.S.S. Marblehead. The ship was hit and almost sunk in battle at Java Sea. Orville was Chief Petty Oficer paid off Navy in 1945, worked in law enforcement at Tacoma Police Department, Border Patrol, as well as Highway Patrol, joined C.I.D. reserve unit, and activated as a Master Sgt. in the Army during the Korean War. He retired from Federal Civil Service (Navy) in 1970. He married Susie E. Marville in 1943 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage, until her death in June 2005.Surviving are sons, Orville A. Marvick, Jr. of Hemet, CA and Thomas O. Marvick of Corona, CA, daughters, Suji of Highland, CA and Lucy Marvick of Lake Forest, CA; 10 grand children; 7 great grand children.A Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 23, 2011 at McWane Family Funeral Home located at 350 N San Jacinto Ave Hemet, California 92544.
