“The World Famous” Patrick Parkhurst, of Hemet, California passed away Saturday May 30, 2020 at his residence after a long battle with cancer. Pat was surrounded by his daughter and long time family friends. He was born Friday, May 14, 1948 in Fargo North Dakota and was the son of the late Doris and Robert Parkhurst (Parkhurst Jewelers). Pat lived in the Hemet valley for nearly 70 years.
Pat had been retired for quite some time from field planning due to his battle with cancer, but that didn't keep him down. He’d meet the boys for breakfast every morning, work on his hot rods when he wanted, attend car shows, take the grandkids camping, and didn’t miss any of their events. Pat was an amazing dad, Papa, friend, and enjoyed life to its fullest. His sense of humor, quick wit, positive outlook on life, and energy could make anyone smile.
Pat had some pretty amazing hobbies throughout the years, few people can say they've done it all. From owning his own businesses; the Winchester Store, Feed Store, and Snap On Tools just to name a few.
Racing and the need for speed was in his Pats blood! How many can say they've owned and drove a race car! He did! This eventually led him to becoming crew chief to other cars, top fuel cars, and Indy cars.
Pat was involved in the Hemet Jeep Club, Lions Club, National Sand Drag Association, NHRA, Channel Islands Yacht Club, Leakers Car Club, and anything else that piqued his interest.
Pat is survived by: Daughters, Kelly Magri (Ravin and Tanner); Angela Jensen (Kenzie, Gage, Piper, Bella); Brother, Mike Parkurst; and his precious dog Hot Rod.
A service followed by a celebration of life will be held at the following location, come and celebrate Pat’s life with us, drive your hot rod if you have one!
