Passed away peacefully on Monday, September 27, 2021 in Menifee, California; she was born on October 1, 1950 in Los Angeles, California to the late Gonzalo and Ruth (Lopez) Torrez.
Rachel worked for the Menifee School District for 27 years as a teacher and instructional aid. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, going to the casinos and doing church activities at St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church. She also had a passion for supporting and donating to homeless services in her community. Perhaps her biggest joys in life were her family, especially her grandkids.
Rachel is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Henry; her loving children and their families, Joseph Hernandez, Johnny Hernandez, Melissa Luna and Monique Hernandez; her siblings, Manuel Torrez, Jesse Torrez, Mary Delgado, Elaine Uribe and Rita Rodriguez; and her nine loving grandchildren.
There will be a visitation on Monday, October 11, 2021 from 4-8pm at Miller-Jones Mortuary 26770 Murrieta Rd., Menifee, California 92586 with a funeral service on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 10am at Miller-Jones Mortuary. She will be laid to rest privately at Riverside National Cemetery.
