There is no way for me to overstate the feeling of loss on Robert Bowman’s passing.  Rob was one of my dearest and longest lasting friends.  The void created by his way too early passing will not be easily filled by the passage of time.  As much as I will miss Rob, I can only imagine what Carrie, John, and Peggy and the rest of the Bowman, Reardon, Hernandez, and Granger families  are going through now, and my heart goes out to all of them.  He was a big personality and will be missed by all of us.

But again, I am so thankful for all of the good things that Rob has brought to me, his friends, and of course to his family.  As much as his passing grieves us we were lucky and were made better people by his presence.  

I met Robert Bowman when going to college at Golden West College in Huntington beach in 1978.  He was already close friends with my friends John Golgolab and Vic Gitano.  We were all regulars at the Golden West College Math lab, where I would normally study for most of my classes primarily for Calculus and Computer Science but also Chemistry and Physics.  So by that reckoning we have known each other for about 42 years.  Later on in our relationship we both found out through records kept by both of our mothers that we did go to the same 1st grade elementary class at the now closed Westminster Christian School.  

Through Rob I also later met the future Sarah Karlsson and thus from Rob and my Friendship brought Ron and Sarah together and we enjoyed many good times with them and their two sons Brandon and Grant.  Also through Rob I met his late Stepfather who he loved as his own as I do mine.  Of course through him I also met Peggy, John and Carrie and also Gus and Shay and his wonderful nieces and nephews for whom I again express my sincere condolences as this must be a very hard time for all of them.  

Soon after Rob and I met we found we had many common interests including computers and software but also a love of the outdoors activities like skiing, hiking and backpacking.  I have many great memories of building computers with Rob for both ourselves and also for our less computer savy friends.  I back packed with Rob in the sierras as well as the San Bernadino mountains and the mountains of his beloved Idyllwild.  I will never forget the great time we had backpacking into the Rae Lakes in Kings Canyon National Park.  Rob had a great appreciation for nature and was a great lover of his pet dogs and dogs in general and helped me greatly during the time that my pet Cody was around.

As others have mentioned he was always very active in his community from being in and working with the Boy Scouts to his work at the Fire Lookout and in his local dog shelter.  This was just part of who he was a very thoughtful and giving person.

He had a great sense of fun and humor and was great to be around.  He was very organized and was very serious when it came to studying and work.  He could be brutally honest but was always kind and thoughtful in his expression of it.  He was one of the most giving persons I have known.  He was a great person and I am proud to have been able to call him a friend and honored that he considered me to be among his friends and grateful to be touched by his his friendship.

Ian and I met Rob when he worked for Alumax, then when he came to Relevant Business Systems and Rootstock. He was such a kind, smart, and funny guy, always willing to help if you needed it. I really looked forward to when he came up to visit the office. I remember him saying once that he really liked pie when I told him I liked to bake, and I said I'd make one for him one day. We are just so sad at his passing, and we will miss him dearly.

Rob and myself grew up since we were in elementry school. We are cousins and we sure enjoyed when our family would get together so that Rob and I could do our thing. This is something that Rob always enjoyed and he loved when family would get together. I must say Rob loved his family dearly and this was such a big part of his life. It is hard for me to think that Rob has past on even with the warning that it was inevitable. There are many of us who will keep Rob alive in our heart for he had so much love for his fellow man. Rest In Peace Rob, you will always be remembered. You will be missed.

Rob will be missed!! He was a warm and caring soul who always spent the time to help you through any problem you reached out to him for help on. He helped with a smile, graciousness, and respective human approach. I always looked forward to his rare visits to the office.  He will be missed!

I worked with Rob at both Relevant Business Systems and Rootstock Software and at both organizations, Rob was always one of those 'go-to guys' that you could depend on for help and assistance. He was a true team player and simply a pleasure to work with. R.I.P Rob.

I had the pleasure to work with Rob two years at Rootstock. He was such a kind person, so hard working and dedicated to help the business and anyone who needed it.  Always gentle and calm, he was a central figure at Rootstock and many relied on him. 
He is sorely missed.

I worked with Rob during his Alumax years and then with Relevant Business Systems and Rootstock.  I can't say enough about what a great guy he was.. always friendly, caring and helpful.  Whenever I asked him stupid questions, he would patiently and slowly explain the answers and provide whatever help he could... he is already very sorely missed.
