

He was born Friday, September 25, 1942 at the Soboba Indian Hospital on the Soboba Indian Reservation in San Jacinto, CA. He was the son of the late Ernest Salgado Sr. and the late Fidelia Juarez Salgado.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Claudia Ann Salgado, daughters, Lisa Ann Huber and Baseemah Arlene Salgado, brothers, Ernest C. Salgado Jr. and Richard Salgado Sr., sisters, Lorraine "Raina" Maciel, Frances Diaz and Rose Salgado, 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son, Robert J. Salgado Jr.
Mr. Salgado was a Tribal leader for the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians for 30 years and was a pioneer when it came to Native America advocacy. His passion for sports made him a powerhouse on the football field, baseball field and basketball court. There wasn't a sport the Bobby didn't say…" I played that sport and I was pretty good!"
He will be missed by many but his legacy will live on. It will live on within those whom he inspired to be the best they could be.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 11, 2016, at Mc Wane Family Funeral Home, located at 350 N. San Jacinto Street, Hemet, CA. 92543.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Valle Vista Assembly of God Church located at 45252 Florida Ave. Hemet, CA. 92544. Burial will follow at the Soboba Cemetery on the Soboba Indian Reservation.
