Roland proudly served in the U.S. Army and fought in World War II, where he was stationed in Japan. He enjoyed spending time at the VFW, and also belonged to the American Legion and Lyons Club. Roland was hardly seen without his VFW hat, a testament to his strong patriotic pride.
Music was a big part of Roland's life. He played the saxophone and was a DJ for many years. His music collection was extensive to say the least. Roland also enjoyed boating and riding snowmobiles in Michigan. His love for fun grew into owning a foosball table, darts, and a ping pong table.
Roland saw beauty in everything and his family will always remember his gentle, happy nature, his love of entertaining, the fun jokester side of him, and of course his love for his family.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife Ethel Sinkule; children LoAnn Ray of San Clemente, CA, Gael Sullenger of Mission Viejo, CA, Glenn Sinkule of Carlsbad, CA, Bruce Revers of Anaheim, CA, Sandra Bernard of Rio Rancho, NM; Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
