

Ron was born June 8th, 1948 in Los Angeles, CA to Louis and Lily Morrell. He grew up in La Puente, CA where he met his high school sweetheart, Christine Lynn Wolverton, to whom he was married to for 27 years before she passed. Soon after getting married, Ron and Chris had their only son, Mark. Ron enlisted in the Army and served for 20 years before retiring in El Paso, TX. While in the Army, Ron rose to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 3 in the Air Defense Artillery (ADA) managing the maintenance and employment of the Hawk missile. During his career in the Army, Ron was stationed primarily in El Paso, TX, Key West, FL, Germany, and Korea. Following his retirement from the military, Ron went on to earn a bachelor's degree from California State University, San Bernardino and a master's degree from Azusa Pacific University. After teaching high school math for close to 10 years, Ron earned a second retirement from the Perris Unified School District. Following the passing of his first wife, Ron found his second chance at love and married his best friend, Donna Michele Thompson, and gained two more children, Adam and Amanda who he always treated as his own.
Ron was a strong, quiet, and loving man who possessed a level of patience and wisdom that was unmatched and made him the rock of the family. Loved, respected, and admired by all, he will be forever missed.
Ron is survived by his mother, Lily Morrell; wife, Donna, three children: Mark Morrell, Adam Thompson and Amanda Thompson Williams. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Kayla Morrell, Jack Morrell, Mason Williams, McKinley Williams, and Cater Thompson.
Services will be held at Miller-Jones Mortuary in Perris, CA at 11am on Friday, August 11, 2017. Plans are being made for his cremains to be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC at a later date.
