

Rose Marie Martinez, wife, mother and friend. Rose Marie was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from Montebello High School in the summer of 1968. Rose Marie married Rick Martinez on April 26, 1980.
Together they had four children. Manuel, Richard, Stephen and Rochelle. They moved their family to Moreno Valley, CA in 1986 where they raised their family and continued to live in the area. All four children completed their high school years and all graduated from Valley View High School.
From a young age Rose Marie was and independent woman. She worked for the U.S Post Office, the Social Security Administration. At one point she even started her own business.
Rose retired from employment in 2009, but returned to work in 2013. Rose loved her new job. She assisted handicap adults with day to day functions and activities. She was planning to retire again for the second time this year on her birthday.
Rose Marie always supported her children and became involved within the community and other organizations as they were growing up. Organizations such as Little League, high school and travel baseball. She was always ready to help out and assist.
Later Rose Marie and her husband together became involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars organization here in Moreno Valley as members of Post 8547, where Rose Marie became Lifetime Member of the Ladies Auxiliary and assumed several officer positions within the Auxiliary.
Some of the functions Rose Marie would volunteer to assist with were Veteran outreach activities, such as going to the Jerry Pettis V.A. Hospital on Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday. At these functions, they would visit the disabled and aged veterans. They would visit with them, bring gifts and joy. They would let them know that they were still being thought of.
For several years, Rose along with other Auxiliary Members and other volunteers would assist the homeless veterans and others at March Air Reserve Base.
Rose also became an Auxiliary member of the Temecula, CA VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 4089. Here along with other Auxiliary members, they would reach out and assist the local veteran and civilian community. She would assist in fundraisers, school events, and Holiday events.
When asked, Rose would volunteer to help with anything and everything always willing to donate her time and never asking anything in return.
Rose Marie also became a Lifetime Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of Mexican Ancestry. She would assist and participate in the mission of the VFW of Mexican Ancestry with its Fund Raisers in which they would raise money for the ten to twelve $1000.00 scholarships they would award to deserving high school seniors that had been accepted to either a university, college or certified trade school. Rose Marie would take great pride knowing that this organization was assisting children to advance their education.
For those who had the opportunity and pleasure to have met and know her, they would all say the same thing. Rose was always there for you. She would say, how can I help you? Do you need anything? She would never ask for any compensation. Rose Marie Martinez was the type of person anyone would want in their corner. Always there with a kind word, always there to help.
