

Stewart went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2012. He was born Jan. 17, 1921 in Northfield, MN. The family moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1922. Stewart grew up in the Los Angeles area where his father Ray Fox became head carpenter at Disney Studio. Stewart would frequently work with him there. He graduated from Pasadena City College. He was active in sports, the Boy Scouts (he was an Eagle Scout) and his church.
Stewart joined the Air Force in 1941. He was a B-26 pilot and instructor and achieved the rank of Major. While stationed in Dodge City, KS, he met Kay Snair. They were married in Dec. 1943 and had 67 wonderful years together before her death in 2010. After the war, Stewart and Kay moved back to S. Calif first to Altadena and then to Riverside. They raised 3 daughters, Lynnda, Gwen (deceased) and Carolyn. Stewart was a building contractor and later building inspector for the County of Riverside. In Riverside he was an active member of Grace Baptist Church where he established many lifelong friends. He helped build the sanctuary, was a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. When he retired, he moved to Sun City and then to Oceanside to help his daughter Carolyn and son-in-law Pastor Mark Williams start Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Stewart is survived by daughters Lynnda Blondin and Carolyn Williams, son-in-law Mark Williams, 6 grandsons and 2 great grandsons, sister Wanda Collins and numerous nieces and nephews. Stewart loved the Lord, his family and friends, golf, designing houses and meeting with the Old Bold Pilots every Wednesday.
A memorial service will be held on July 7 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Vista at 2:30.
