

Vance L. Petersen, age 75, of Hemet, CA, for 23 years passed away Friday, December 10, 2010, at his residence. Vance was born May 19, 1935 in Plentywood, Montana. He was the son of the late Alfred Petersen and the late Hazel (Sonstegaard) Petersen. Vance attended the University of Montana, Missoula. He graduated with a business degree in 1959 and was a proud member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. He worked for the J.C. Penney Company for 20 years and then became self employed and owned and operated several retail lighting stores in Southern California. Once he retired he was very active in the real estate market. Vance enjoyed home improvement projects, fishing, going out on his boat, and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He belonged to the R.V. Club Kamp Fire Kampers for 20 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years Melinda Petersen.

Arrangements are being handled by Miller-Jones Mortuary & Crematory Hemet, 1501 W. Florida Avenue, Hemet, CA. There will be a celebration of Vance's life on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Pilgrim Congregation Church in Hemet. Pastor Gregg Hepner will officiate.
