Bill passed away at 96, May 14,2022 after a brief illness. Born in Aliquippa,PA.on April 13,1926, he was preceded in death by his father Peter, mother, Margaret Thompson and sister Peg. A veteran of both the Army and Air Force, he served in WW II, Korea and Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star with Valor while assigned at Pleiku Airbase in 1965. He retired from the Air Force at March A.F.B. in 1968 after serving 22 years. He worked for Venable Aircraft at Hemet/ Ryan Field during the seventies and early eighties and then joined Civil Service at then Norton A.F.B. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Goldie (Barkovich), daughters Deborah Diamond, Karen (Diamond) Hatley and his son, William M. Diamond Jr., four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Bill will be interred at Riverside National Cemetery on June 17, 2022 at 10.00 A.M.
