William Max Morgan was born on February 6, 1926 in Boone, Iowa to Hershel Morgan and Loretta Beasley. He was the second oldest of 10 children. At 17, he entered the Navy. As a first class seaman, he served on the USS Kitkun Bay when she helped in the occupation of Honshu and southern Hokkaido, main Japanese islands. After being honorably discharged from the Navy he worked as a railroad worker, a bus driver, and in 1987 he retired from the Garden Grove School District as a warehouse supervisor. In 1988 he moved to Sun City to spend his retirement years.
Bill passed away peacefully in sleep on December 12, 2012 from pancreatic cancer. He is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Martha, his 5 children, Larry Morgan, Laurie Penlick, Terry Malone, Seatta Jaekal, and Danny Malone. He is also survived by his 7 grandchildren Bonnie Chilton, Kim Titus, Jaci Parent, Matthew Jaekal, Holly Tabor, Dustin Malone, and Sean Malone and 8 great-grandchildren.
