
Yvonne Gay Williams was born on September 28, 1952, in Portland, Jamaica to parents Hubert and Sylvia Robinson. Died peacefully at home on February 27, 2021 in Sun City California. She is survived by three brothers, Alton Robinson of West Palm Beach, Florida, Henrick Robinson of St. Ann, Jamaica and Leeroy Robinson of Hartford, Connecticut. Daughter Jacqueline Haber of Palm Bay, Florida. Grand daughters Ariel and Ramona Haber of Palm Bay, Florida and Georgiana Johnson of Lauderdale Lake, Florida. Grandsons George Bedward III, Khaleel Haber of Palm Bay, Florida and Jalen Bedward of North Lauderdale, Florida.
Yvonne is predeceased by her son George Bedward Jr., parents and brothers Hubert Robinson Jr. and Clement Robinson.
Yvonne attended Martin Primary School and later transferred to Port Maria Primary School. She did well on her exams and was granted a scholarship to attend Dinthill Technical High School in St. Catherine, Jamaica.
After high school Yvonne worked for the Government of Jamaica in the Post and Telegraphs Department. Yvonne loved the tasks that challenges her abilities and later worked for JAMAL Foundation. Still seeking to challenge her abilities, she became a licensed insurance agent and worked for Mutual Life Insurance Company. She soon got bored with this line of work and went into business, opening a boutique and hairdressing Shop out of the Highgate Shopping Center Complex. She also operated a fleet of taxi cabs.
Yvonne was blessed with the gift of fashion. She enjoyed accessorizing outfits for a variety of clientele who in turn received glowing compliments. For Yvonne, a dress was just not a dress or a pants suit was not just a pants suit it was all about the accessories that made the outfit come alive. Fashion was the delight of her entire life.
She was a visionary and migrated to the United States and lived briefly in Florida. She visited California and fell in love with the place. She had this vision of opening and operation a board and care facility for the elderly. She acquired the training to operate said facility and was granted a license by the State of California in 2006 to operate Mona Lisa Manor.
