Alan Clarence White was born on Oct. 27, 1945, in Oakland, CA, along with his twin sister Alice Louise White, who is two minutes older than he. Alan, Alice and their younger sister, Beryl Gwendolyn White, were raised by their adopted god-parents, Charles and Beryl Reid, in Richmond, CA. At the age of 11, Alan moved in with his mother Alvie, step-father Frank George, along with a younger brother Frank Jr., and sister Madeline. While living with his mother, Alan became involved with the Richmond Boy’s Club where he excelled in many activities including the drum corps where he eventually became drum major. He was also awarded the “outstanding boy of the year” award for 1959-60. During this time he also attended Roosevelt Junior High School where he was elected student body president. After leaving Junior High, Alan attended Richmond Union High School where he played football for three years. After graduating from Richmond High, Alan attended Contra Costa College where he played on an undefeated football team. He left Contra Costa and was married to Annette Anderson. They had two children, Alicia Christina and Alan Clarence, Jr. During this time Al worked for Ford Motor Co. After 15-yrs of marriage Al and Annette divorced. After the closure of Ford Motor Company, Al went to work at Santa Rita Prison. During this time Al met Bernadette Marie Rivera and her daughter, Keziah Lynette. Al stayed at Santa Rita Prison for approx. eight months before deciding he wanted to move on to better things. He and Bernadette parted ways after five years together and he went to work at Santa Clara District Attorney’s office. He worked at the Attorney’s office for five years before meeting his current wife and “love of his life,” Jennifer Anne Bourne. After a whirlwind romance and proposal, they were married at Bally’s wedding chapel in Reno, Nevada in 1987. Al and Jennifer moved to Henderson, NV, in 1990 and bought a home. Al went to work for the Clark County District Attorney’s office, Investigations Unit Child Support Division serving papers on non-paying parents. After 17-years, Al retired and has been traveling with his wife and fishing during his retirement. Al is survived by his wife Jennifer, children Alicia, Alan Jr. and Keziah, sister Beryl Wilson, brothers John T. Crowder and Frank George Jr, sisters Lee Ethyl George-Cook, Jeanette George-Neal, Geneva George and, three grandchildren Bobby and Natalie Hardnick, and Dane Stockholm. He also leaves behind two cousins, Isaac Woods Jr. and Aubrey Washington, Jr. Al’s mother and step-father, along with his sisters Alice, Madeline, Linda Crowder and brother Charles Crowder, have proceeded him in death. The Memorial service will be held at Palm Mortuary Henderson, 800 South Boulder Hwy, Henderson NV, 89005, Monday, September 22, 2014 at 2:00 PM with a Reception to follow.
