

Bernie Picus, 82, was born in Santa Monica, CA to Nathan and Mabel Picus and predeceased by his parents, his eldest sister, Nikki Rossine, and his brother-in-law and business partner Samuel Lakritz He was a furrier by trade for 44 years with Lakritz & Picus Furs, Milwaukee, WI, a career that he truly enjoyed.
Bernie retired to the Las Vegas area in 2003 settling in Henderson, NV. He is survived by his sister, Beverly Lakritz; his loving wife and partner of 42 years, Karen; four children, Scott Picus (Lisa), Jill Check (Rick), Jeffrey Picus and Mitchel Picus; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren and one more on the way. He loved visits from family and friends, golfing and betting on college football games in collaboration with his friends and wagering partners.
He was a past Worshipful Master in the James M. Hays Masonic Lodge which is part of the Grand Lodge of Wisconsin. He delighted his grandchildren and friends with a quick wit and humor leaving many to say, “How does he come up with that?” He touched so many lives not only in the business world but also in his personal life. Those who knew Bernie loved him. He was a precious man who will be deeply missed.
Graveside services will be held on July 8, 2022 at 9:00 AM Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. A memorial service in the Milwaukee area will be planned and arrangements will be announced at a later date.
