Debra Diane Casto (Schneider) was born on April 15, 1955 to Charles and Verleen Schneider, in Poplar Bluff Missouri. She was the first of four children. She was a devoted daughter and sister.
Debbie is survived by her husband Kentis (Ken/Kim) Casto, son Robert Casto, daughter-in-law Angela Casto, granddaughter Kayla Casto and sisters Denise Fries (Schneider) and Julie Day (Schneider). She is predeceased by her parents Charles and Verleen Schneider, her brother Charles Schneider, nephew Brandon Schneider and grandson Ryan Casto.
In 1964 the Schneider family moved to Sedalia, Missouri where she was known to everyone as Debbie. She attended Sacred Heart High School and graduated in 1973 where she excelled in algebra and geometry. She was on the Honor Roll during her senior year and lettered in volleyball in 1971, 1972 and 1973 where she was co-captain in 1973.
On February 9, 1974 she married Ken/Kim, her high school sweetheart. On June 21, 1977 she welcomed into the world her son Robert who was the most important part of her life. Throughout her life she held several jobs within the Federal Government and the one she enjoyed the most was Hoover Dam, Boulder City, Nevada when she retired from Federal Service after thirty-two years.
Debbie was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was and always will be an enthusiastic Kansas City Chiefs fan throughout her entire life. She was an avid volleyball player and always wished that she had grown about four more inches in order to play in college. She continued to play volleyball in Georgia, Alaska and Nevada. She enjoyed travelling and especially cruising. She has been on over fifty cruises where she visited 35 countries. She especially loved London, England and Paris, France. She had been to over 40 states including Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico. She also loved doing crochet where she spent many hours making beanies for cancer kids, making booties and other items for Domestic Abuse Shelters and of course for family. She also enjoyed playing bingo especially with her friends and family. She will be deeply missed by family, friends and everyone who knew her.
Services for Debbie are scheduled at 1:20 P.M. April 14, 2026 at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1500 Veterans Memorial, Boulder City, Nevada. A celebration of life will be celebrated on May 31 at 2:00 P.M. at Elks Lodge #1682, 1217 Boulder City Parkway, Boulder City, Nevada. Another celebration of life will be celebrated in Sedalia, Missouri time and location to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to St Judes Children's Research Hospital, American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
