Donald Scott Myers, age 88, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to his parents Carl Andrew Myers and Idabelle Shondelmeyer. He was raised in Tucson, Arizona where he would graduate high school and enlist in the U.S. Navy. Don served honorably in the U.S. Navy during Korea.
Following his service, Don would continue his education graduating from UNLV with a Bachelor's Degree making the Dean's list. He would eventually go on to work as construction engineer; a position he held until he retired many years later.
In 1968, Don found and married a spitfire of a woman and the love of his life, Earlene. Together they would embark on a journey that would span over 47 years, and were blessed with three children.
Don was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who was devoted to his family. In his early years, Donald passions included drag racing, mint racing, and hobby mining. As he got older, he continued to enjoy mining, but enjoyed desert exploration.
Don always strived to achieve personal and professional growth, by setting the example for his family. In his 50's and 60's Donald would go back to school to complete his master degree; which was something that he was truly proud of. He was a true patriarch of his family, and will certainly be missed by all of those closest to him.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. He is survived by his daughters: Pam, Debbie, and Kimmie; his grandchildren and extended family.
A celebration of life with military honors for Donald will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 at 2:00 PM to at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
