It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Eileen McClintock (née Fairbairn), who left us peacefully surrounded by family. A devoted wife, beloved mother, cherished grandmother, and proud great-grandmother, Eileen’s life was a testament to resilience, warmth, and an unwavering devotion to family.
Born to Alfred and Mary Fairbairn, Eileen grew up in a home grounded in strength, faith, and compassion, values she carried with her throughout her life. She married the love of her life, Richard McClintock, in June of 1959 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts. Their love story spanned 54 years, filled with partnership, dedication, and countless memories. They celebrated their honeymoon in Atlantic City, New Jersey, beginning a lifetime of shared adventures.
Together, they built a beautiful family and lived in Jamaica Plain, MA; Derry, NH; Waterboro, ME; and Las Vegas, NV. Eileen and Richard were proud small-business owners, operating Dick’s Variety stores in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, where they created community, friendships, and lasting connections.
Eileen worked at Boston Gas Company, the Boston Police Department Station 13 in Jamaica Plain, Derry Shoe Company, and Information Services in Derry, NH. Whether in public service, retail, or office work, she carried herself with grace, dedication, and a genuine spirit of service.
Eileen played basketball in high school and loved to swim. She enjoyed playing cards, relaxing with her favorite TV shows, and treasured family vacations at Hampton Beach, NH. She also enjoyed traveling with Richard, creating memories that will live on through generations.
Eileen is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Richard; her parents: Alfred and Mary; her brother, Alfred Fairbairn; her sister, Valerie Scanlon; her daughter-in-law, Teresa; and sister-in-law, Eileen Woods.
She is deeply loved and forever remembered by her Sons: Richard McClintock and Robert McClintock; Robert's wife, Jeraldine; her grandson, Corey and his wife Mallory; and her great-granddaughter, Coraline, who brought her immeasurable joy. To know Eileen was to know kindness, quiet strength, and steady love. She created a home full of laughter, loyalty, and comfort, one where every person felt welcome. Her legacy lives on in the family she raised, the memories she built, and the love she gave freely and without hesitation.
Eileen will be dearly missed, always cherished, and forever held in our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved Richard and embraced in God’s grace.
