We are going to miss our Lolo Genesis. So grateful we had this time with him. We will always remember his advice, love, and care.

Tito Genet was a man of conviction, he always felt strongly and fiercely about everything. EVERYTHING. He had an intensity about him that was only matched with a certain sweetness that you couldn't quite put your finger on. Growing up, I was terrified of him, probably why I'm coming up empty handed for cute photos to share here. I don’t think I had any pics with him until I was about 18. This was the first time I got a taste of that lighter, gentler side. He wrote on a card to me on my birthday “To the fourth son I never had. You’ll be leaving home soon. I don’t have to give you “going away” advice. You’ll act/behave accordingly. I have faith in you” He broke the tear-jerking moment with a joke about how he will have to lecture Mitchy for an hour. He was our father-figure growing up, he was not the kind of man to disappoint, and he never did. We are both thankful and blessed.
Words are not enough, literally. Everything about Tito Genet had to be an exclamation, real words or not. I particularly enjoyed how he managed to create inside jokes with Roxie and even roast her absurdity. Most of which was documented in the photos and videos I shared with him. Even through texts, you could hear that loud, yet high-pitched wheeze, and if you were lucky, the thigh-slap you felt in your soul.
Tito Genet always made me think of the song “Catch a Falling Star” by Perry Como, a song I would have never known if it weren’t for his love of 1950s pop (although, Wikipedia says it was in at least 5 romcoms…) He was a thoughtful and insightful man, documenting anything and everything he deemed appropriate to inspire now and for later. “Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day”. Will do. Arigadoo.

This was the last picture I took with him. We took a short trip to Vegas last November to surprise him for his birthday. He was always so strong in his faith. He was always at church even while he lived in Chicago, regardless the weather. You could always count on him to be there.

He loved basketball and would always try to join us when we practiced. I first played with him when I didn’t really know how to play and my dribbling was slow, so he would always pick on me and steal the ball and laugh so hard each time. Although frustrating, I didn’t mind it so much because I saw how happy it made him. I will always remember his love for the game and the sheer joy it brought to him.

I always admired how smart he was. His memory was so good. Whether it was about church, movies, life, he had an answer or story for everything.
One quote I will always remember from him is, “Judgment day is coming soon anyway!” This was his answer for anything.
 “You want that new car? Get it! Life is short! Judgement day is coming soon anyway!” And he would just crack himself up. To me, he was the definition of “YOLO”.

Ka Genesis will be dearly missed by the Andaluz family. We share our deepest condolences and and hope his family finds comfort in knowing he finished his race. <3

My sincere condolences and sympathy to the family. It was my honor and privilege to meet Genesis and his wife in Chicago for a Bible Study group at their home. I also remember when I was picked up at Town House and taken to their Church event at Bloomingdale’s, Illinois when I was living in North West Suburbs of Chicago in 2015. I will always cherish my memories of my encounter with the family forever. A fine gentleman and a family man of God. May his gentle Soul Rest In Peace. I will always keep the family in my thoughts and prayers, especially my friend, Genie Calma.

This was my last photo with the both of you.,,,  You both have welcomed me and loved me and the family when I moved from London.  Words cannot express how deeply saddened and heartbroken we are…. You both now have finished your race…. Until we meet again po❤️

We are so saddened and heartbroken to know that you have finished your race.  This was the last time that most of the family last saw you, when we celebrated turkey thanksgiving in Las Vegas Nov 2021.  We will miss your random calls or text to us…even on our birthdays….  We love and miss you po.  Until we meet again po.💔

I was a horrible basketball player two decades ago. Ka Genesis was so much better than me. He almost never missed his shots. But when we played on the same team, he would always pass me the ball, even though I would miss all my shots. We lost a lot of games because of my missed shots. But Ka Genesis didn't mind. His people mattered more to him than winning.

My deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.

I miss my lolo.I remember one time when My sister and I would pretend to play “rafting” where we would be stranded on a boat.Lolo would play too,his character named Binro.It’s like robin but flipped.He was a great brother,dad,grandpa,and member of Iglesia Ni Cristo.  

Lolo and Lola took care of me the most since I was a baby. I remember when Lolo would always tell me stories about him when he was a kid. My favorite memory with Lolo is when he built me a doll house. He used to take us to school and take all the kids. I miss my lolo very much.

So sorry to hear of Genises passing. I worked with him at HSA Kings County until he retired. Such a sweet soul and great sense of humor. He was always so helpful no matter how busy he was at work. My deepest condolences to the family.  

Our sincerest condolences. We were fortunate to spend some time with Ka Genesis in September 2022.
