George Gonzales

On January 12, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada, our hearts were shattered as we said goodbye to our loved one. At the tender age of 66, with his wife and his children and grandchildren at his side, we said goodbye to this wonderful man that we were fortunate to call husband, dad and granddad.

George was born on May 3, 1957 in Delta, Colorado to Eva and Pete Gonzales. He was raised and attended schools in Delta before marrying Leona Vigil and eventually making his home in Las Vegas, Nevada.

George was very talented and loved building things. He was a very hard worker and enjoyed working until his illness forced him into early retirement. He loved football and there was no doubt, he was an avid Broncos fan whether watching a game on television or from the stands as the opportunity presented itself. He also enjoyed Nascar racing and for many years attended Nascar in Las Vegas with friends. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and could most always be seen in a Harley t-shirt. He loved spending time with his family and loved the Colorado outdoors and all it entailed. Camping and hunting with family and friends was a real treat and memories from those trips were the highlight of many conversations for years.

He will be missed for lovingly teasing his loved ones. He also enjoyed traveling and especially exploring new adventures with his wife.

George is survived by his wife Leona of 47 years of Las Vegas, Nevada. His children Shawn (Kim) Gonzales and Mandi Gonzales-Mendez of Las Vegas, Nevada and Jared (Marci) Gonzales of Lake Worth, Florida. Eight Grandchildren; Isaiah, Emilio, Aliyah, Josiah, Micah, Makiah, Aubrey and Kara. A brother Gene (Doreen) Gonzales of Delta, Colorado and sisters Christina, Rosie, Sharon and Olga and many nieces, nephews, sister-in laws and cousins. He is proceeded in death by both his parents and five brothers: John, Pete, Sandy, JoJo and Billy Gonzales.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on January 26th with Rosary at 7:00 pm at Palm Mortuary at 800 South Boulder Hwy, Henderson, NV 89015. Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 27th at 10:00 am also at Palm Mortuary.
