

Jacqueline Card Ellis died at home on December 14, 2025. Jackie was born on January 1, 1947 in Ogden, Utah, daughter of Jack and June Card, now deceased. Jackie was known for her quick wit, sharp intellect, infectious laughter, and ability to make people feel at ease in her company. Upon her death, she was a dear sister, aunt, cousin, and friend and will be sorely missed.
After graduating from Ogden High School, Jackie set off for New York City and travels beyond. She eventually settled in the Seattle area where she met her husband to be, John William “Bill” Ellis, whom she married in 1985, now deceased. They moved to California and started a successful business in the construction industry.
Jackie adored animals and taking care of them. Over the years, she had several cats, ponies, donkeys, llamas, among others, and a dog named Foot. Her sweet Persian, Teddy, was with her until the end.
Jackie is survived by her brother, James Marvin Card, and her sister-in-law, Pat Card, of Henderson, and her niece, Joan Card, nephew-in-law, Andy Dannerbeck, and grand niece, Lauren Dannerbeck, as well as beloved cousins Mary Jo and Kent.
Instead of cards and flowers, her family, friends and acquaintances are encouraged to make a donation to an animal rescue organization of their choice. The immediate family will hold a private memorial to honor her life.
