Jane E. Armstrong

Jane Elizabeth Armstrong, age 91, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 14, 2020. Jane was born November 8, 1929 in New York to Esther and Clarence Barrow. Jane was raised in New York with her six sisters: Joyce, Sharon, Kathy, Lynette, Debbie, Nancy and one brother, Bruce. Jane grew up with her best friends Key and Duke, whom remained life long friends.

On October 4, 1947 Jane married Edward Armstrong at St. Boniface Church in Buffalo, New York. The couple had two sons, Skip and Gary. Later in life, the couple were blessed with two grandchildren, Randy and Debbie, and great grandchildren.

Jane was truly devoted to her family and her church. She worked doing secretarial work with her husband, Edward, who worked for the U.S. Government. Together they also owned and operated their own business for many years until they retired.

Religion and faith were important to Jane; she was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church. During that time, she volunteered making baby baskets for the indigent, and made a book in Braille for the blind. She was well respected because she was such an outgoing individual who sought to help in any manner she could.

Jane truly enjoyed traveling. She and her husband were world travelers. Her favorite vacations included traveling the world with her husband, and especially visiting the holy land.

Jane was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. She loved her dogs who were always her companions, and loved her birds.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was devoted to her family, church and her community. She was a fantastic conversationalist who could engage just about anyone in a discussion. She was a down to earth person, outgoing and gregarious. She was practical and sensible, but what friends and family will remember her for most is the fact that she was so understanding, kind, and giving. She had a heart of gold and everyone whose life she touched will miss Jane Elizabeth Armstrong.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Edward, father, Clarence; mother, Esther and siblings: Joyce, Sharon, Kathy, Debbie, and Bruce. Jane is survived by her sons: Skip and Gary; grandchildren: Randy and Jessie, sisters: Nancy and Lynette, her great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Jane will be held Monday, December 7, 2020 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 AM both at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Jane will be laid to rest at 12:00 PM at the Southern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veteran's Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
