

Jimmie “Jim” Ray Tomlinson, 69, of Henderson, passed away May 12, 2015. He was born Aug. 30, 1945 in Durant, OK. Tomlinson graduated Star Spencer High School in Spencer, OK., and from Central State University in Edmond, OK. He then served in the military from 1966 to 1967 and from there he entered the Army Reserves. Jim taught in various schools throughout Henderson and Las Vegas for 30 years. He started at Von Tobel Jr. High School, taught at Burkholder Jr. High School, Mahlon Brown Jr. High School and Bonanza High School. He was a member of the Black Mountain Golf Course and was very proud of his, “Hole in One,” on the second hole. Jim is survived by his wife, Sallie Chaffin-Tomlinson, step-son and his wife, Jimmy and Kimberly Chaffin, his grandchildren, Cody (Janet), and Logan Chaffin, and his great-granddaughter, Eleise Chaffin, all of Henderson. He is also survived by his brothers DeWayne Tomlinson (Kay), and William “Bill” Tomlinson (Lexie), his nieces Kendra Vincent (Gene), Trisha Armstong, (Lauter), and Lorrie Arrowhead, his nephew Craig Tomlinson and great-nieces Kalynn Vincent, Keridyn Armstrong, and his great-nephew Ryan Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Beulah Tomlinson. A Graveside Service will take place at 9 a.m., Tuesday May 19th at Palm Henderson Mortuary and Cemetery, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
