Joe Ray Gonzales

Joe Ray Gonzales "Tio Speed", age 84, of Henderson, Nevada passed away at home on Thursday, February 3, 2022. He was born April 19, 1937 in Blanco, New Mexico, a son of the late Jose Seferino Gonzales and Eurbana Prespentt Gonzales.

Joe Ray retired after more than 24 years of service with the Las Vegas Convention Authority Center, where he was a services shift supervisor. he enjoyed camping, fishing, watching wrestling; and spent his last years with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Julia G. Gonzales; brothers: Seferino Gonzales, Bert Gonzales, and Carlos Gonzales; and sisters: Rose Ruiz and Helen Sandoval. He is survived by his son, Louis Gonzales, three daughters: Mary A. Du Van and her husband Ronald C. Du Van, Pennie A. Chanice and her husband, Anthony J. Chanice, , and Joey "Monie" R. Gonzales, widowed; two sisters: Pearl Sandoval and Corrine Ritchey; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

Joe will be reunited and laid to rest with his beloved wife, Julia G. Gonzales.

A rosary service for Joe will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. A funeral mass will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Joe will be laid to rest following at Palm Henderson Cemetery with military honors, at Palm Henderson Cemetery, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
