

Lawrence Archie Paterson (Larry), the only child of Archie & Hollis Paterson, born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, passed away on April 11, 2026, at Oakmont Assisted Living in Las Vegas, NV, at the age of 91. Larry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Carol, of 47 years.
As a child, Larry played soccer and baseball.
His first job was as a cook working in a fish cannery in British Columbia. He then became a Chef for the Canada Pacific Railroad. Once married he worked for Bapco & Tonecraft paints, Rockwell Power Tools, A & R Williams Machinery and finally Woodward’s Department store in the Hardware Department before retiring in 1990.
Larry served as President of the Renfrew Park Community Association where he and Carol were instrumental in the organization and running of one of the beauty pageant that was a preliminary to Miss Canada. Larry was also President of the Metro Community Council and was Awarded Volunteer of the Year by the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation.
Larry has been a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encourage of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America for 55 years. He joined in 1970 with the Gentlemen of Fortune Barbershop Chorus in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada where he served on the board in all positions for years including the organizing of all the Afterglows. The chorus had the privilege of singing on the Stage at Carnage Hall. Upon relocating to Orland, Florida so that he and Carol could be closer to family their grandson, he became a member of the Orange Blossom Chorus. There he was named Barbershopper of the Year for 1995. Here they travelled to Italy with the quartet Keepsake. Another move in 1999 took Larry and Carol to Honolulu, Hawaii again to be near their family. There Larry became a member of the Sounds of Aloha Chorus and they travelled to New Zealand. His final move was in 2014 where he joined The Silver Statesmen of Las Vegas. In 2025 he was honored to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Larry and Carol were named Volunteers of the Year for Diamond Head Theatre in Honolulu Hawaii for the years 2002-2003 Season where they both volunteered in the costume shop.
Larry is survived by his daughter Kelly and Son-in-law Tim Moulson of Henderson, NV and grandson Sean and his wife Christine of New Jersey.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Palm Mortuary - Henderson, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015, US, on May 5, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
