Lucy Lee Mesplay

Lucy was born June 12, 1936, in Arizona and raised in Roseburg, Oregon. She graduated from Roseburg High 1954 and soon moved to Portland, Oregon where she met and married her husband Joe Mesplay and raised their 3 daughters. She and Joe retired to Las Vegas in 2002 where they enjoyed waking each day to blue skies and sunshine.

Throughout her life, Lucy was an active member in several business and social organizations. When her girls were young she enjoyed being a Campfire Girls leader, she was also a longtime member of ABWA (American Business Women’s Association) for over 50 years. In recent years, she delighted in the company of her sisters in Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Las Vegas.

She worked for many years as a secretary at the Beaverton School District and later as a Real Estate Agent for John L. Scott also in Beaverton, Oregon.

Her interests included family, friends, playing bingo and traveling. A recent travel highlight was a Fall Cruise in New England with her family. This trip allowed her to enjoy her love of the coast and scenic lighthouses as well as spend time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Joseph Mesplay; daughters, Jacque Mesplay, Michelle Irwin (spouse Jon) and Sheri D’Silva (spouse Raymond); 9 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her sister Orrel Walser and her parents.
