I will never forget the week I was blessed enough to spend with this remarkable family.  She, and both of them, were truly something special.  Much love to all of you.

I keep thinking of the afternoon we watched the "Father of the Bride" we were laughing and in tears at the Martin Short character.  We laughed so much. (Usually thought over something ridiculous Grandpa said)
I think my favorite times were in the car traveling. Talking about nothing and everything.

Ma - I think you would have liked the long-winded biography.

Over time, I have realized you had the most thankless of jobs: full-time Mother.

Although we never lacked discipline growing up, I know that later in life - when you had no reason to be proud of me - you were supportive and nonjudgmental.  You let me find my way, even though often there was no reason to believe I ever would.

As a kid, I just hated hearing "you look just like your Mother".  But it worked out.  We were both able to get pretty old without anyone ever knowing it.

Maybe my best gift from you was my warped sense of humor.  I still have a cartoon I cut out showing a frog on a lily pad cursing when all the flies escaped after he opened his lunchbox.  Every time I look at that cartoon, I laugh a little and think, "Ma would have loved that". (Love, Raymond V.)

Grandma, I don't know what to say, or where to start. Like everyone else has said, you taught us all to be the best we can. I remember when you would come visit, or the few times we made it out to Texas. I love you, and will miss you always.

I love you and miss you already. One of my favorite memories was being at your house and you saving the refrigerator box for us. You let us decorate and play in it all day and then we got ice cream. Love you Aidan LK

I love you mom...

I know you didn't think you were a good mother but you were the best mom I know! Thank you for being a buffer between me and Dad. Seems like I was always trying to get his goat, so when you see him, tell him I loved him and appreciated everything he did, or tried to do for all of us. And the same goes for you too.

Thank you for teaching me how to cook, at first I was only in the kitchen for the extra bites of food, but it turned into a real love of cooking, which comes in handy when I'm hungry.

I have memories of us laughing so hard that tears would roll down my cheeks and I couldn't breath (especially the pictures at Sears.) I got your weird sense of humor and love of bizarre dreams, and I had one the other night, you were in it and at the end you patted your neck (that was the weird part) and told me you loved me three times. I'd like to think it was your way of saying goodbye...

Grandma,
You taught me life lessons I cherish and use everyday.  I will pass down the "3 Ls" and think of you everyday.  Thank you for so many special times and memories.  My cup runneth over.

I was trying to think of all the things you taught me, but it would be easier to just highlight some of the big ones: "MANNERS" The Flory boys were taught things only Emily Post would know. "JACKS" Mom taught us variations, even the girls in my elementary school never heard of. "COOKING" You don't need measuring utensils, "A dab of this", "A pinch of that", you just look at it or taste it. All three boys became decent cooks. "DETERMINATION" When I was discouraged with (two a days) for football, I told her I was thinking about quitting. She looked at me and said, "Maybe you should, that's what they (coaches) want you to do, that's why they make practices so hard." She knew I was so stubborn that I would never give the coaches the satisfaction of quitting. That would make their job easier, because they would have one less player to cut. "COURTSHIP" Treat your dates as ladies and make sure their daddy approves of you. "MARRIAGE" You're too damn young, it will never work (I told you I was stubborn) "CHILDREN" Just love them. Well I could keep editing and inserting more advise, wisdom, and memories. But anymore would just sound like "A bunch of bologna sauce"

Grandma, 
   I remember the first time meeting you. Andrea told you she had brought me over and you said: "Why did you bring him today? We're smashed!" I knew then that I was meant to be a part of this family. You always made me feel like I was one of your own. I will miss you greatly and hope to see you again some day.

Mom, You have been my mom for 43 years, you have been the best mother-in-law anyone could ask for! You were always there for Frank and me, unconditionally! You and Joe have been the core of our big crazy family, and the best part of my life was when we could all get together, the more the merrier , you would always say. I miss you so much already! Grandma I can remember all the times you and Grandpa would drive across the country to see us. All the spoils, the Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the sodas (we never had soft drinks in the house) and the Texas shaped cookies. I recall we would try to eat the part of Texas with your house last, We would come find you to show you that your house is being eaten so you had to stay. 

I remember the love in support you had for me when I got older. There was a time when it didn't look like I was going anywhere with life. You would say "Be young while you can, there is plenty of time to be old". Those words were always reassuring to me and got me through until I figured out what my next step would be. Thank you for always loving and believing in me. I will forever miss my biggest fan.

Dear Grandma,
Thank you for loving me. Thank you for sharing my first day of kindergarten. Thank you for all the lipstick and powder. I hope you have a good life in heaven!

Grandma, you're a beautiful soul. You brightened the days I got to visit. I'm so very thankful and blessed I was able to grow up with you. I'm glad we got to enjoy the time we did before your passing. Thank you for always being an inspiration to finish my education. Everytime I have a bowl of cake and ice cream it'll be in remberance of you and Grandpa. Your Too Cute.

My words will never do justice to what my heart feels. We were so lucky to have you as long as we did. You touched everyone's life that you came in contact with. Thank you for teaching me so many things. Thank you for encouraging me to never give up. Most of all thank you for loving on me, you always knew when to pick up the phone or give me a hug. Our bond was a special one, maybe because you carried me home from the hospital! I will miss you from now until we meet again in heaven. I love you! Your, black eyed Susan

Oh Grandma.....where do I start? You were one of the most amazing people I knew. You bought me an umbrella when I was 5 because "it might rain", you gave me a baton and taught me how to twirl. I was never really any good, but when I performed for you, I thought I was a professional. I am your little lamb. I have a ton of stuffed lambs to prove it. Every time you gave me a lamb you would say "this is the last one, I promise" It wasn't the last one until my lamb with a veil that you gave me at my bridal shower. You were there for my JR prom when my parents couldn't be. You gave me some "mad money" in case I got mad and wanted to call a cab. You have helped me out more times then I can remember. I am so glad that my kids had a chance to know you and had an amazing relationship with you. They will always have their great memories too. So until my next spanking with a wet noodle or powder puff, or my next stomach poke to see if I have room for dessert, I will hold on to all of these great memories and more. I love you and will see you again in heaven.
