

Nacrina Castro Mendiola, age 76, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Thursday, March 16, 2023. She was born in Tamuning, Guam to Manuel Rivera Castro and Natividad Leon Guerrero Castro. Nacrina was raised in Sinjana with her two sisters: Francisca (Ankie) and Efigenia (Fe); and six brothers: Tomas, Santiago, Jose, Eusebio, Juan, and Gil.
Nacrina graduated high school from the Academy of Our Lady of Guam in 1965. She went on to continue her education, earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from the University of Guam, and then her Master of Education in School Leadership. Nacrina worked as a school administrator for many years until retiring in Guam. She and her wonderful husband relocated to Henderson, Nevada in 2013.
Nacrina met and married the love of her life, Clarence, on September 30, 1967. The young couple were married at St. Jude Church in Sinajana, Guam. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, whom enjoyed spending time with her two children and two grandchildren.
Nacrina loved her early morning walks, shopping, water aerobics, baking for her family and friends, being active and in her prayer groups, and volunteering for various activities. She also loved to travel when she had the opportunity to visit family in Northern California and Tennessee, and touring Hong Kong, Bali, and Japan. Nacrina lived her life to the fullest, and will truly be missed by those closest to her.
Nacrina was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Mendiola; her son, David Mendiola; her father, Manuel Castro; her mother Natividad Castro; and her siblings: Francisca Untalan, Tomas Castro, Jose Castro, and Eusebio Castro. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Mendiola Rosario (Richard); her brothers: Santiago Castro, Juan Castro, and Gil Castro; and her two grandchildren: Kilee Mendiola and Cole Rosario.
A visitation for Nacrina will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM, both at at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015. Nacrina will be laid to rest privately with her husband at a later date at Palm Henderson Cemetery.
