Nurys Nunez Moore, age 66, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on Sunday, May 30, 2021. Nurys was born August 19, 1954 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic to her parents Pedro Pablo Valenzuela and America Nunez. She was raised Santo Domingo and New York, New York with her four brothers; Jose, Genaro, Pablo, Freddie; and two sisters; Janet and Betty.
As a young girl, Nurys loved dancing. In her spare time she liked playing cards, dancing, singing, and playing music, and spending time with her closest friends: Nelsita Vasquez (Mimi), Estella, Maria, Maribel, Carmon. She did not attend high school in the states but her favorite classes in high school were history, science, and music appreciation. Nurys finished her education at San Diego Community College in 1980; where she studied law enforcement.
Later in life, Nurys Nunez Starlard married her husband Anthonie Karl Moore on February 14, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Family and children were important to Nurys. The couple blended their lives and families. The couple were an instant family; blessed with her two biological children, three children by marriage, and two adopted children. In addition, the couple were blessed with nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
At work Nurys was viewed as a natural leader. Nurys worked as a Bounty Hunter, and later in life in medical billing; Both professions required her to marshal all of the available resources, including personnel and materials, in order to meet virtually any objective. She was great at developing strategies and made maximum progress with little wasted effort. Nurys was also adept at uncovering new and more efficient ways of getting things done. Nurys' most memorable achievement included being recognized as one of the most successful Bounty Hunters in the West Coast.
Nurys was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whom enjoyed spending times with her family. She enjoyed watching movies, eating popcorn, site seeing, swimming, dancing, and going to church; she was a member of the Pentecostal Church. Nurys was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following her favorite events whenever she got the opportunity; which included supporting her favorite baseball team; the New York Mets. She also loved to travel. She liked exploring different places but also enjoyed designing and scheduling the trips in advance. Favorite vacations included trips to the Dominican Republic, California, and Florida.
Nurys's retirement finally came in 2008. Her new life involved relocating to Florida before eventually settling in Nevada. In retirement, she found new pleasure in garage sales, thrifting, and even opened a thrift store in the United States and helping her mother with a thrift store in the Dominican Republic. Retirement afforded her the time to enjoy that experience and provided one more opportunity to look ahead at what life might offer her.
Nurys Nunez Moore knew what she wanted from life and never hesitated in going after it. She could be characterized as a driven individual, someone who understood the importance of achievement. Nurys was decisive and outspoken, but had a soft heart for her family and friends. She was a leader, both in her professional life and with her family. She will truly be missed.

A visitation for Nurys will be held Friday, June 11, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 12, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, both at Palm Boulder Highway Mortuary, 800 South Boulder Highway, Henderson, NV 89015.
